| | | Help with binocular strap? Hi there,
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I have bought some new binoculars today. (They are the Hawke Frontier EDs if this helps) However I have tried putting the neck strap on, and I think it is on quite firmly (after following some online instructions!) but now I have a good few inches of strap hanging down, as I've gotten the strap to the length I want it. Sorry if this is not making any sense So, do I cut the remaining lengths of strap, or have I just completely messed up putting the strap on?
Thanks again

You generally find with straps you get a lot of extra length (you certainly do with camera straps). Once I am happy with the length I lop of the excess and seal the cut with a lighter to prevent fraying.
Worth leaving a little extra in case you change your mid about the length later.

dont worry you can never have too much strap .. when i got my binoculars i to had alot of strap left , i left it alone and just got on with the more important things like using them .....
if you do find the strap get on youre nurves just fold it up and put one stich through it to hold it out of the way ,which can be ripped out at a later stage if you need to make them longer (ie getting them over lots of warm clothing ). |

Great bins there you have, just got mine last week, first outing in the field so to speak today, they performed excellently, bright, clear, sharp. Its hard to explain but its like when you look through them, its very transparent, like your not looking through glass if you know what i mean, where some bins you know you are and doesnt look as clear.
im well pleased,i changed my strap to an optec pro strap, with wide neck piece.nice and comfy, plus i do trust it more than the strap that came with them
