EVEN IF it's the biggest con going, the mighty power of suggestion, or a weird case of mass hypnosis (that strangely includes our little vicious flying friends), try this. Repeat the following mantra whilst undergoing self-flagellation with an object of your choice:
IT WORKS FOR SOME PEOPLE
I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WORKS
BUT I CAN GET OVER THIS
'COS WHEN ALL'S SAID AND DONE
IT'S ONLY A FIVER ON EBAY
I WILL CONQUER MY FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN!
Repeat fifty times.
Deb

Jim | Why does it matter? Are you suggesting it does not work? I can say for certain that it does (for me). My home village is rife with midges and on my recent trip I would have expected to have been hit hard, but by employing SSS I have been pretty much bite free this year, except for times when I have not used it.
This thread was designed simply as a heads up that I have found it to be good and hence others may want to try it. If it doesnt work for you, then thats fine.

Jim | Its £5, with no guarantees. No great misery there.
I know folk that touch cloth after Imodium. Does not mean you can't recommend it.

| | | Re: Midge - Skin So Soft Ah, clegs, now we are talking.
Must say I have a liking for clegs. Closeup they are beautiful and, if it is possible to say this about an insect, they have attitude in spades. One landed on the inside surface of my glasses and settled down to clean itself.
Though I have to admit to being largely unaffected by them. They seem to bite me as much as other folks and it hurts and the blood flows freely, but other than that I have no other effects. Unlike Mrs Tringa who comes up in red itchy lumps.
