Oh dear,
I do apologise for not replying.I have been off work on 'the sick' [still am] and not 'on line' very much but no excuse I know!  .I thank you all for replying.
I have access to a pair of 'normal' full size binoculars and just want something small,and cheapish,to carry when cycling/traveling.Their range/prices are very good but I have decided not to use " scopesnskies",even for such a minor purchase.I have seen a pair of Praktika compacts on/from Amazon and will probably just get them.I don't buy loads on-line but I have had a worryingly high percentage of bad experiences when doing so and I am getting pretty wary of the whole thing.When I am back to 'normal' i may post a bit more [if I have anything worth talking about  ].I am also in the market for the 'right' compact camera [but thats a more complicated choice/story  ],so may even post a few pics in future!.

Hi John, Sorry to hear you are sick  , hope you get better soon.
I hope you enjoy your new binoculars. As long as they will take them back if you have concerns or if they don't suit, then you should be OK.
I would highly recommend InFocus as a place to shop (for reference, and in future, and just in case there is one near you). I found them extremely helpful.
