| | | Moth trap lighting Hi, I have just built my 1st moth trap and I was wondering if anyone can explain about lighting and frequencies that attract moths. I know alot of people use MV lamps or blended bulbs and I was wondering if there are alternatives that would be just as effective. The bulb Im thinking of using is advertised as a UV bulb.......... Compact UV Bulb Home Car Maplin
Would this work,as its supposed to produce lots of UV light? I have noticed lots of moths attracted to my garden security light, but this is 1000w halogen. I tried my trap with a 100W halogen bulb with no success,so have decided to try various bulbs described as UV bulbs. Is there anywhere that will explain what types of light moths are attracted to or is it just going to be a case of trial and error to see if i can find an alternative to MV/blended bulbs? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
