| | | Digital Projectors Hi,
I was wandering if anyone has experience of digital projectors.
I've read the resolution isn't so good at the moment for projecting stills.
Has anyone used them and what do you think?
Thanks

| | | Re: Digital Projectors Well, I suppose what exactly you have in mind, but I've done quite a number of powerpoint style presentations involving full-screen wildlife stills (and film clips) on several different projectors and have had nothing but positive comments. These days the resolution seems quite adequate to me.
They are still very expensive of course - as are replacement bulbs. |

| | | Re: Digital Projectors I do all my talks using powerpoint, a laptop and a digital projector and whilst the quality of a projected image can't match that of a Velvia slide through a good slide projector the versatility you gain is an enormous benefit.
With regards to lamp life - they are expensive but are unlikely to blow spontaneously, they seem to have an almost set lifespan. Each projector will have a different bulb life so perhaps that's something you might want to check. We use them everyday at work for several hours a day and in four years we have yet to replace any lamps at all. By the time we do I suspect that the price of the projectors will have come down to such an extent that it will probably be cheaper to buy a new projector - whether that's a good thing environmentally is another question.

| | | Re: Digital Projectors I use a projector on pretty much a daily basis. Its a Dell 3400MP. Its currently £639, down from £799. The quality is super, provided the lighting is fine. I watch the TV through mine, and DVD's, projected onto the wall at usually about 5 foot by 3 foot. I would consider buying my own if work asked for it back. I really rate it

| | | Re: Digital Projectors Hi
thanks guys. All positive comments.
I think I'll go for one eventually as the prices are comming down. Like Rob says the price of bulbs is a put-off but I guess the last a lot longer than my slide projector.
Thanks again,
