Binocular caps and cases

I had the great fortune of losing my job at the end of last year. Fortunate because I found a better one pretty quickly and had a nice redundancy pay out to buy some new kit.

My main buy was a pair of Leica 8 + 12 Duovids. I have to say they are absolutely awesome and I love using them. However, 2 small gripes.


Firstly they aren't supplied with lens covers. Does any one know of a stockist that supplies caps that would fit duovids?

Secondly the soft leather case is a bit flimsy and doesn't offer the level of protection that I'd like. Can anyone recommend something more substantial?

(message to Leica - when we spend so much money on your products is it really too much to ask they get supplied with the equipment to keep them in good condition?)

Look around your kitchen cupboards and such-like places - you might just find an aerosol can cap that is just the right size to fit one of your eyepieces - a lot cheaper than custom bought caps, I expect.

But I very rarely use caps on my binocs - they just get in the way.
