| | | scanner (and printer) advice please I couldn't find a thread on this so please point me in the right direction if this has been done to death ....
I'm looking to buy a new scanner since one of mine has died (it is twelve years old and suffering mechanical failure) and the other is refusing to talk to me ..... I'm minded to get a combined printer-scanner but the quality of the printer is pretty much irrelevent since I seldom print anything at above 'draft' grade.
So are there any advantages of the various makes (seem to be mainly Canon, Lexmark and HP) at the lower end of the economic scale? I like to be able to scan at up to 12,000 dpi and would also like to be able to copy slides (but could live without that).
Any experience, comments? |

It won't copy slides as such but will scan them from an A4 slide sheet into jpegs.
I've had this one for about 18 months and have been totally happy with it. |

Any experience, comments? | Hi Paul
I’ve used many Epson scanners … and still do! The ‘Perfection’ range is excellent.
Canon Cano scan models are also highly rated.
Be aware of very light weight scanners as they can introduce blur through vibration at high resolution. A good solid desk is a must for these 'modern' types!
As for combined Printer/scanners I would really give them a wide birth.
Hope this helps
