| | Good Boots I'm all smiles this morning - I've been thinking about a new pair of boots for quite a while and weighing this particular make for a couple of months - today I decided to jump to before they sell out. I don't normally endorse or advertise but I have been so pleased with the quality and usefulness of these products I've decided to say so - and no they're not paying me! I don't know about anyone else but I'm quick to scowl and have a go when something doesn't come up to the high standards I think should go with todays prices so to play fair I think I should also say when something is good and reasonably priced ........
If anyone wants details of where and how much then pm me

| | | Re: Good Boots Hi foxy - yes they are for fishermen and so is their extremely warm waterproof double coat that I have had for almost two years now I wear them for wandering about in the undergrowth or sitting/lying on the beach in winter or in fact any cold situation where I'm hanging about with the camera just waiting and blending in These boots are not for walking miles in - in any case my walking miles days are over - they are for skulking about in wet, cold boggy conditions - where my old walking boots (which cost twice as much sev years ago!) now leak badly. For sev years I've had a shortfall - jacket and pants are completely waterproof and camo so when I walk and then stand or sit I just disappear - but my feet kept getting wet and that stops my concentration - I have a good pair of neoprene wellies which are good but the boots are warmer lighter and my ankles are well supported on rough ground - I couldn't be more pleased that they do the job I want them too |

A couple of years ago I sent for some 'Blizzard Stalkers' (1200 gms thinsulate) and they're still going strong. Cold feet are a thing of the past! OH sent for some fancy high zip up snake proofs - but they're not as warm as mine.
Keep taking those photos,
Acher

| | | Re: Good Boots To be honest I look on the clothes/boots we wear for our outdoor interests are simply tools for the job and as far as I'm concerned they don't have to be the latest in designer gear either. As long as I am dry and warm, I don't care if I don't look trendy. As for your new boots, you're happy with them and that's all that matters. For the record I think they look cool |

Acher | I googled those with interest - they sound better than mine poss tho dearer Had mine on yesterday while hanging around at Formby waiting for the foxes to get up and start their day/night! I was stood and sat on snow and my feet were blazing - so much so that I had to take my hat off to cool down a bit - now that is grand - as usually I have to have hat and neck gaiter on to stop the chills going up and down my spine - but hot feet made the rest of me toasty and comfortable - I really am impressed with these boots!!
Its just so good to buy something that actually works - I try stuff - I bet we all do and then get disappointed and disgruntled when they don't meet the advertising hype - but these do and are reasonably priced and do the job I need which is hanging about or sitting in a cold draughty hide waiting for something to happen. I probably won't be able to walk far in them until I've worn them in for a while - if they were leather they would be too stiff and my damaged ankle wouldn't cope - but cos they are light fabric I don;t even have to wear a tubigrip support ....... I'm still welll chuffed Yesterday I sat on the floor and blended right in with my waterproof camo overtrousers over lined pants and my camo double jacket not even fastened and we were in the wood - not in sunlight and I was comfortable and warm just waiting ...... |

Yes I'm really happy with them - they do the job I need - I'm not bothered about looks of stuff and I don't wear camo to be trendy - tho it does seem to be the 'in' thing around town so maybe I am 'cool' but not cold!!!!!

use mine when sea fishing from the boat. I sometimes wrap my feet in empty silver bags from wine boxes! Cannot say if there is any enhanced benifit. I could wrap one foot only and see if there is any difference. Cheers, Tony. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
