In the set up menu under units you have the option of setting the temp in C/F which I have done but fail to see the current temp on any of the display pages when outside .
Any ideas ?
TIA

Julian | If you go to the Trip Computer page (probably) and select "Change Data Fields" you should find you are able to select and display "Water Temperature". This data field displays the water temperature received from an interfaced unit. To be able to display anything it would have to be receiving temperature data from an external sensor, maybe on board a boat for example.
Incidentally the unit knows precisely the temperature inside the case. It does this so as to be able to accurately calibrate the internal oscillator. This internal case temp. will almost always be different to the outside air temp. so not much use to you.
I've had 6 Garmin units now and on the earlier ones you could access a diagnostic and test screen on power-on by holding down one of the buttons while turning the power on. This would give you (amongst other things) the temperature inside the case.
You have to be careful pressing buttons as you turn the unit on as on the older units if you pressed the wrong buttons you would cause a hard reset and lose all your stored data! |
