| | | Re: Clothing for Wildlife photography Hunter wellies for wet muddy days or at the beach in winter, with the welly socks to go inside. But wear the welly socks on their own, my mum tried to wear them with another pair of socks underneath and it really hurt!
Plain coloured long-sleeved tops and dark cordouroy trousers to keep you warm! |

| | | Re: Clothing for Wildlife photography I've never found that insects react much to what I am wearing ... well, I've had no complaints or critiques so far, except from my girlfriend! So when I go into the field it's just a pair of 3/4 length shorts and whichever t-shirt doesn't smell too much If it's horsefly season and I am going into a boggy area then I have been known to wear the most hideous white, baggy, cotton trousers ... they make me look like a painter & decorator but at least I don't get bitten |

| | Re: Clothing for Wildlife photography You could use the Stealth Wildlife Photographers Suit however the cost can be quite prohibitive at £380 ish incl postage.
There are alternatives like the superb Photographers Suit by StealthWildlife.co.uk at only £100 incl Postage to the UK. I have used both and the first one is quite heavy and not only on the pocket. the second one is both lightweight, breathable and waterproof, it is also lightweight on the pocket too. I'd go for that its also silent in use so you won't disturb any of the wildlife you're watching. It comes in Olive Green (my choice and the one I bought) and realtree camo. I do have one possible alteration I'd like to see and that is an increase of the velco around the wrist but its an easy fix for yourself to do with the modicum of sewing skills or the prodigious use of wonderweb!!
It comes with loads of pockets, breata-tex material which is breathable, waterproof and silent, it also have a fold out pocket at the back that folds out to make a comfortable 100% waterproof seat.
There is another alternative and that would be to buy Forces gear the really good stuff is very expensive and usually based on goretex which can be noisy in use and can be prohibitive in some circumstances when you can be mistaken for hostile?!!!! Depending upon where you are of course.
If I had to choose I'd buy and have bought the StealthWildlife.co.uk Photographers Suit. I have, has said before used both the stealth gear and Forces Kit and my preferance is still the above 100% however don't take my word for it try it for yourself. You'll be so glad you did. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
