| | | 1,000 mile socks Anyone used these to any great degree? I have just bought half a dozen pairs for hiking in. I usually wear Sealskins, with my special forces boots, but feel they would be overkill with my new Scarpas. Are they all they are cracked up to be?

| | | Re: 1,000 mile socks 9 boys each. Have you seen them? They are two layered and apparently you are guaranteed no blisters. I have suffered previously and intend to put some miles in this winter so want something that is going to help. They are supposed to be quality

| | | Re: 1,000 mile socks so 9 notes for a thousand miles vs £1.66 I make that I have to get in the region of 200 miles out of each pair of tesco specials to make mine better value - I reckon I walk that in a month most months just working and on the whole my socks last for 2-3months so it looks like I come out ahead.
I did try a pair of 1000 milers once - but given the hard day to day wear mine get - often being soaking wet for much of the day they didnt last any longer than the tesco ones and when I tried to claim on the "guarantee" they said that my level of wear was abnormal
maybe seal skinz would be a better bet , but they are considerably more arent they ?

| | | Re: 1,000 mile socks I am not sure how much Sealskinz are. Maybe 20-30 boys but I got a load free a while back. I have friend who used to be the Marketing Director. Swapped me a load for some expensive cycling products I used to sell. They are really very good.

| | | Re: 1,000 mile socks The pairs I own have all lasted several years. That includes summer and winter hillwalking and mountaineering etc. As do standard UK army surplus ones. 1000 miles ones are better if you suffer from blisters but no better or worse than wearing two pairs of thinner socks. |
