| | | Re: Looking for a less dayglo womens waterproof - any suggestions? Paramo I think it's the silent fabric, waterproof-ness (is that a real word?!) and breathability that have really sold it for me...I do tend to walk a lot to get shots, often in the Brecon Beacons and other hilly areas. |

As far as I've seen, noone does camo gear in womens sizes, and I'm not sure I want to go that far anyway really, as in reality most of my shots are bird ones rather than shy mammals such as deer. I'd also like something I could go to the pub in afterwards without looking like a carp fisherman/ SAS type! |
you seee you just broke my suggestion now as i would have said go to your nearest large fishing shop and have a mooch round.
sundrudge in particular do some fishng suits which are light weight totally water proof and if you get the winter versions very warm. they have to be they're designed for people who don't move from one spot for weeks.
another suggestion would be to get a fly fishing vest, they have masses of pockets. which are big enough to fit binoculars and cameras in and they have a net pocket on the back where you can put flasks an butties.
the result being you have every thing you want to hand when you need it.
i get the odd funny look but i'm never short of s drink or a bite to eat.
though i do look like a carp fisherman |

| | | Re: Looking for a less dayglo womens waterproof - any suggestions? Paramo It's a useful thread this. I was after a decent hill-walking gore-tex coat a few years back, but wanted a khaki green-type colour to blend in a bit more. I couldn't find one and ended up with a blue one.

| I found that the fly-fishing vests all tended to be too short - with
my shape that just exaggerated things!!
Instead I bought a country innovations (in many RSPB shops, but
cheaper on the web) waistcoat that is longer and so marginally
less unflattering. Takes a bridge camera and bits and pieces for
cameras, and has large bum pocket.
Waterproof it is not. Neither is High-streat fashion | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
