| | | Your Camera Nest boxes Starting this thread as lots of you on here have camera nest boxes. What type of box and when are the birds staring to enter the boxes. Which birds are nesting in them it will be very interesting to hear all about all your camera nest boxes.

| | | Re: Your Camera Nest boxes I bought a nestbox cam from Aldi but won't be able to report back on it for a bit as I bought it as a birthday present which isn't until 1 April (although I may end up using it before then!).
Will bookmark for the moment to see how everyone else's birdcams are going ..

We have put our first camera box up, it is a good one that we bought from Garden Nature during the Christmas holidays. The picture is good and it was easy to set up. Within a week we had a Blue Tit visiting and she has regularly returned. Generaly she enters the box and shuffles / flaps around the base. She does not stay overnight (may be it is too early in our relationship for that ) but we are hoping she will nest. In addition we have placed some sheeps wool by the feeders although there has been no interest yet.
Heres a challenge who can be the first to post a photo of the TV image of a nesting bird!
Here hoping.

| | | Re: Your Camera Nest boxes My better half Julie ( aka Wild Woman ) went to Aldi yesterday and splashed out £39 for their camera nest box. I put it together last night, and have to say that i was really impressed with the quality of the whole package!
All the timber has been well cut, with no rough edges. The camera is clear, operates at 0 lux, and has a microphone fitted as well.
Putting it in position today and hoping for good results!!
Got to be honest - can't fault it so far.
She also got the scope. For chucking into the rucksack and using for general use - how can you complain for £26?
Now....i wonder if they will start doing lenses.......?

Our Blue Tits visit the box most days although they haven't left any nesting material. Generally they either peck at the entrance hole or flap around the bottom of the box. Normally it is one bird but today one was inside and one was oon the outside.
I will try to get a picture.

| | | Re: Your Camera Nest boxes Hi all, I have two nest boxes fitted with cameras, though these are only pc web cams so I only get a good image when the sun is out! One is a tit box that has been up for a year now, last year I had interest but no nest, this year seems better as a blue tit has now started to visit it regularly and even taken some nesting material in!
The other is a starling box that has constant visits from starlings, it was first installed during early summer last year but I feel I put it up a little late so again no nest was built, hoping this year will be better!
On a brighter note the open fronted nest box I have was used by a robin last year that succesfully reared 5 chicks though this one has no cam | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
