| | | Re: aldi spotting scope Been to ALDI, Swanley and they have quite a few. Bought one for a fellow birder who is in France at the moment, but after reading the good reports on birdforum, mailed me to dash up there and get him one. For £26, having it in the car, packing it in case for holidays / trips, it won't be painfull if it breaks. Consider also that there is a 3yr return policy. All in all, as I was strapped for cash at the time, I didn't get one for myslef (only for my pal). I had a look through one in the shop and it seemed okay. From all the reports it's blinking good value for money. SLEEZEBAY checked out and there are people knocking them out for double the price PLUS POSTAGE! Rumour is they are bulk buying from ALDI and selling on....!! Mmmmm..Naughty. |

| | Re: aldi spotting scope Saw this post yesterday and went straight to Aldi. Light was bad so didnt get a chance to try it untill this morning. Must say for £26 it aint bad...ok a little soft at the top end but from 20 to 40 its pretty sharp. Its a great buy for someone on a budget or just wants a lightweight scope to carry around in general. |

| | | Re: aldi spotting scope Been dying to get down to Aldi but haven't been able to due to freak weather conditions Going to give it a try today ... got my eye on one of those nestcams, but not holding out a lot of hope - expect they disappeared within minutes! (Just hoping no-one else has been able to get there due to snow, either!)

| | | Re: aldi spotting scope Got my nestcam Can't wait to use it! Mind you, no birds in garden, so not exactly hopeful of chances of anything actually breeding in it I like to stay positive though .. and am perservering with it!

| | | Re: aldi spotting scope I bought one last year just to see what it was like, its only really any good in the garden in bright conditions. Once I took it out and about and found it gave very poor quality images over longer distance in dull conditions. But like I say its OK for the garden.

| | | Re: aldi spotting scope Just been outside with the scope and looked at the Moon, pretty sharp at 20-40, but 60 loses a bit of clarity. Still I'm pleased with it and hope to be birding with it shortly. |

| | | Re: aldi spotting scope Very pleased with Aldi scope. Best at 20-40 zoom but I can see birds (dark specks) and identify them which I would never have been able to do before. For the money you can't go wrong.
