the back rest has broken, it is time for a change any good suggestions please? | Well, if you are going to buy a computer chair, go somewhere where you can try before you buy. At work we had "Fred" who would come out with his van and let you try out a dozen or more. After I broke my neck they let me have an expensive (but second-hand) ergonomic one, which kept me going till I retired (but they vetoed a brand new, smart looking one, on the grounds that "everyone would want one"!!). But don't expect to get one that will last if you only pay peanuts - you get what you pay for.
At home I'm using a kitchen chair at the moment, until I restore my antique Captain's chair!
