| | | Re: Binoculars help please Jessops have a half price offer on these at the moment. - Nikon Action VII 8X40 CF Binoculars. (originally £97.86) sale priced at £48.93
They have close focussing of 5metres, which will be OK for your 17ft distance to your feeders, and at 8 x magnification, they won't be too powerful. Also they are reasonably light at 760 grams.
They should give a brighter image than smaller 8x25's, whilst being lighter than full size 10x50's etc.
If you wan't really cheap & cheerful, then Lidl & Aldi sometimes have great offers on, but you will need to try the bins out, to ensure that whatever they have will focus close enough for you. (Certainly the Bresser 10x50's, of which I recently got a pair to leave in the car, will not focus that close).
Regards

(Wish I'd bought a pair myself now ).

I tested them by finding a suitable small sign with 6mm text, and walking backwards until the text became absolutely sharp).
I'd be interested if you could find out exactly how close yours will actually focus.

| | | Re: Binoculars help please sharp enough to read WAB post sized text easily from roughly 17feet if you go further back, it does get sharper, but only minutely, and at about 17 feet i can easily read a thread on WAB
