They have close focussing of 5metres, which will be OK for your 17ft distance to your feeders, and at 8 x magnification, they won't be too powerful. Also they are reasonably light at 760 grams.
They should give a brighter image than smaller 8x25's, whilst being lighter than full size 10x50's etc.
If you wan't really cheap & cheerful, then Lidl & Aldi sometimes have great offers on, but you will need to try the bins out, to ensure that whatever they have will focus close enough for you. (Certainly the Bresser 10x50's, of which I recently got a pair to leave in the car, will not focus that close).
Regards
Mike. | Thanks for your help mike I went to town this arvo and bought myself the nikon action 8 x 40 cf, at £48.00, The shop assistant did let me take them outside to look through(i wouldnt have bought them if he say no) and they were exactly what im looking for ideal for garden use , I do find that its best to look through them and see if they suit you before you buy, im glad I didnt buy any pair on line without seeing that they are right for me ,and another thing there not too heavy, got back home but couldnt set them to my eyesight because weve got a thick load of fog here and its like pea soup, just my luck that is !!!! sheila .

| | | Re: Binoculars help please I used to have the Minolta X300 SLR and decided to exchange it plus various lens at Jessops in part exchange for a Nikon 9x25 CF III. What a great pair of binoculars there have been over the last 10 years, still going strong.
I did last year got some cheapie binoculars from Jessops and probably use them for my planned Coast to Coast Walk in May. |
