| | | Smock for Bird-Watching I have the Paramo Velez Smock and have it a few years now and can say it is a excellent smock. I got it for my Coast to Coast Walk in May 2007 and had a couple of wet cold and windy days, kept me warm and dry throughout.
Although, I've not done a great deal of walking in the past year, mainly cycling which I also enjoy. However I do some mountain-biking and again the Velez Smock came up trumps, when on the MTB.
Only in the last few weeks, I've taken up bird-watching and must say a excellent stress busting activity it is. I can recommend the Velez Smock for bird-watching, on the banks of River Tees it is freezing cold the other week and I had the Velez on. My Velez is a Cobalt Blue. But you can get the Velez in a Olive colour. |

| | | Re: Smock for Bird-Watching Thanks for that info, Foxy. Just Googled it. I like the green one although it seems to come in a range of colours.

| | | Re: Smock for Bird-Watching Yes, there are two colours in green, one is fir and other is olive. The latter has no reflective stripe.
There is another Velez Smock called the Adventure at £20 more, but it has fixed roll-away hood. What I like about the Velez Smock, that I have, is the hood can detachable.
Another good Paramo is the Taiga Fleece jacket and can be combined with the Fuera windproof jacket. I had the Taigia on yesterday and keep me lovely and warm in that wind. |

| | | Re: Smock for Bird-Watching I have an olive green Paramo Alta II coat, which is excellent for my main hobby of walking. But it it is also fairly rustle-free and so pretty good for bird watching too. |

| | | Re: Smock for Bird-Watching My previous post seems to have been removed, presumably because of the links, so can I suggest anyone interested googles "naturally paramo" to see their range of gear designed specifically for nature watching and photography. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
