| | | Spare lens caps for my binoculars I was jumping across watercourses in the highlands recently and nearly overbalanced a few times. Heard something splash and had a quick look but the water was moving too fast for me to see anything. It wasn't until I got back to the car that I realised I had lost BOTH lens covers for the tops of my Nikon bins.
I've been searching online but I can't find new ones. Any ideas people? |

| | | Re: Spare lens caps for my binoculars I know the feeling - I've lost camera lens caps in the past.
I'm sure that a Nikon agent should be able to source replacements for you - at the very reasonable Nikon spares price obviously.
Alternatively, many independent camera shops have odds & ends bins, where you might pick up suitably sized alternatives. (They might even stock generic replacements).
Hope you get sorted.
Regards

I bought a couple a year or so back through Ebay from someone in South Harrow (IIRC) they stocked all sizes and were very cheap.

The only ones I can find when I do a search are for cameras rather than binoculars - am I doing something wrong in my search? Wouldnt be the first time! |

| | | Re: Spare lens caps for my binoculars I think these were the people I got a lens cap from: eBay UK Shop - lenscaps-wholesale: 99 pence, Generic Specials, Contax Yashica
I needed to email them first for info. and found them very helpful.
I know they only show camera lens caps, but the may be able to help.

If you want something to cover the eyepieces of your binocs you need something like this: RSPB Optics - Online Shop
They attach to the neck strap and can't be lost.
Don't bother with individual lens caps, they're made to be lost!

| | | Re: Spare lens caps for my binoculars Perfect! That is exactly what I want. When I asked in my local camera shop if I could buy anything like this just after I'd got my Nikons a few years ago they said no. Not the first time they've given me duff info either. When I asked about new eyepieces for my spotting scope, they couldn't even track down the correct model number. Think I'll give up on them. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
