One last question though. Do you know the dimensions of those covers on the RSPB website? Small to medium doesn't really mean very much!

You could look in your bathroom - the lid from a can of something (hairspray, anti-perspirant etc etc just might have the right dimensions) !

Or you could wander round the chemists with your bins, trying out all the plastic caps! Might get some attention from the staff, though! And buy two cans, don't just pinch the caps!

Cut a strip of cardboard and a disc and make your own. A covering of black insulation tape will make it look 'okay' and waterproof.
