Mobile Broadband

I use my laptop for photos but I am intrested in accessing the interweb
while I am out in the TinTent any recommendations?

I have a Vodafone card. Quick enough for me to operate in the car, when out of the office

I was just about to have a good look into this although we would want pay as you go mobile broadband so no contracts or nothing.

I know 3G do it but the coverage is not the best so I'm led to believe, any tips on pay as you go mobile broadband??

Cheers Ron, a 3G dongle looks like the best thing for us but we shall see!

It's 50 quid for the dongle and then you can do a £10 PAYG Top up thing but it only lasts for 30 days but it seems like the way forward.

Are you after a contract for mobile broadband Nightshade?

I tried one of those cards but I could not find the keyboard or screen! I am on Orange the phone is 3G I only bought it because I thought the pictures were 3D!

So far I have been using anything free but it does look as if I will end up with a contract,looking at maps Orange have the greater coverage?

I have a T Mobile web'n'walk stick (I managed to do a great deal on that combined with a phone tariff on a contract).

I've been able to access the internet from home in Buckinghamshire and also at places including Oban and Aviemore (I posted on WAB from Aviemore) but sending an email from Scotland proved impossible.

It's a great little toy but I don't use it when I'm camping as much as I thought I would.

Still not sorted ours out yet, my girlfriend has a 3G phone contract so she went into the 3G shop to ask if they would do a deal on mob broadband and they would but it would have to be a monthly fee contract which is no good to us as we would only take the lappy away 3 or 4 times a year.

Gonna get a dongle me thinks and use the pay as you go way.

I've been looking into this myself, we are three miles from the old exchange so the best i ever get is half a meg anyway. so that's line rental + tiscali for 1/2 a meg. I dont have a laptop so i'm going to try it for my desk top, orange give you a 14 day period so if it is a chore and doesn't work you can terminate it. I'll let you know the results.
