| | | sigma 150 macro?? Hi All.
I've been reading the forums for a while now, mainly in the interest of buying a macro lens. i have decided to go with the sigma 150 macro as many of you guys and people on other forums rate this lens very highly, my only question about this lens is which one is right for my camera?? there seem to be a few different types available eg: f 2.8 EX DG APO AF, or : f 2.8 EX DG HSM APO
I belive HSM is hyper sonic motor?? and i know f2.8 is the apeture but not sure about the rest?
my camera i would like to attach the lens to is a canon eos350d.
thank you

I've been using the 150 with a Canon 350D, for about 18 months. Good combination - you should find it great to use!

| | | Re: sigma 150 macro?? I have one too that I have just to use with my 30D. So far, it seems very impressive - operator error being the only problem.

Look forward to seeing your photos with the new lens. It's the best macro lens you can get, in my opinion anyway.
If you need any further help or advice with settings etc to get the best out of it just post on here and we will be able to help

It's an absolute corker of a lens! Here's a 100% crop from a photo I took with it today (click on the thumbnail below and then click on the image itself to bring up the full size version)...
This one was taken at f9 and, in my experience, the sweet spot of this lens is somewhere between f8 and f11. But I would still rate it as outstanding at every aperture.
Sigma give an explanation (sort of) of what all those letters mean on their web site at http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/supp...riviations.htm

Dave P. | I have been looking into buying the canon 100 macro for a while now. Would you rate the sigma above the canon 100??
I ve always stuck with canon and never tried sigma lenses before.
Thats a cracking shot by the way
