| | | compact spotting scope Hi I'm looking for a compact scope for light use. Something that can be easily carried when I'm out and about.
Can anyone recommend anything? |

What eye piece do you use with that? I was thinking about a fixed length rather than a zoom. |

I got a straight through configuration, and have made a "rifle butt" (but, butt?) thing to take it with me. Haven't been shot by the Police yet, but I am cautious about it. |

| | | Re: compact spotting scope Hi
I got a MM1 second hand for shoving in the camera bag, came with a 25x eyepiece and it does what it says on the tin! I'm happy with it.

Can anyone recommend anything? | Also take a look at the opticron IS range. I have the IS60, very compact, the IS50 even more so. There is a dedicated lens (25x on the IS60) you can use, or if you want to spash out the HDF zoom is great and the rest of the range fit too.
They have just brought out a new waterproof version so you could go for that (about £120 for the IS60 i think) or might be able to pick up the non-waterproof one cheaper.
Although the MM2 is highly rated but many don't like the draw tube feature. The Nikon ED50 is another compact scope and has ED glass, it is very highly rated, but a few more bucks. Probably worth a look though.
