Does anyone have any experience or know of anywhere on the net where I can get details on building a living bird hide?
I'm a ranger in a country park and we're looking at building a living hide in our nature reserve. The sides are already large banks of earth, but we will need a front, top and back. Any information, sources of info, ideas anyone may have would be greatly apreciated.
The hide is on the edge of a lake with a wet alder/willow carr woodland behind it so willow would probably be the prefered foliage.

went to potterick carr reserve near doncaster a couple of weeks ago they have made what seems to be a liveing hide out of planted willows, formed in a circle and bent over like a igloo when the willows sprut the leaves and branches form a natural hide (eco friendly or what) i think they have a website just key in potterick carr nature reserve hope this has been some help ---tezza |
