| | | Waterproof Trousers Can anyone recommend waterproof trousers, preferably warm and non rustly. I live on the Isle of Lewis and seem only able to find those lovely blue plastic two legged bags that scare everything in ear shot. Fed up getting soaked crawling around in bogs trying to get photos, hmm, something waterproof for the top half would be good too. Thanks for any help. |

Most shops at the moment are having sales on these items and are reduced massively i got a second pair in January was £140 REDUCED to £15 yep not a typing error £15 quid.
They are really warm, waterproof and windproof and also come in natural colours !!
Could even get a jacket if your lucky !

| | | Re: Waterproof Trousers There are Trousers made from "Ventile" material had a pair for years
just don't have the use for them to justify the cost now.
They don't rustle and are waterproof and breathable

| | | Re: Waterproof Trousers If you want warm, waterproof, wind proof, hard wearing and good for wildlife watching etc, the camo ones are excellent, or a pair of chaps work just as well. there are many suppliers on t'internet or if you go to Johnny Kingdoms web site you can use the link to get the ones he uses. Word of warning though don't buy the cheapo ones as we did off e,bay, as the first time you brush up a bramble etc they'll tear |

| | | Re: Waterproof Trousers Paramo cascada trousers. They are that good that I wear them for wading in rivers when fishing, they dry in no time if any water does get into them (which it wont in normal use). They are not overtrousers but a stand alone garment. I also use them when wandering about on the Uists and on the Sutherland moors. They are warm, silent and like all paramo stuff you get NO condensation inside. It also lasts forever as you just reproof it when it starts to let water in (my paramo coat has had one reproof in 8 years) PƔramo

| | | Re: Waterproof Trousers I'm a Paramo fan too, but not so good for kneeling or sitting on wet grass.
Cheap rubber over-trousers can be found at Farm machinery shops for about 18 smackers - I use a pair of these if having to lie of kneel.
For REALLY warm stuff then hae a look at fishing / tackle shops - lots on the internet.
PMG put me onto this !!!
Just bought a 5 season sleeping bag from one such shop, that is NOT tapered - its been tested this week down to zero and works!!
Odd how little cross-over there is between different hobbies. |

| | | Re: Waterproof Trousers I'm looking at getting some Regatta Chandler II overtousers, not the cheapest but appear good quality and offer a long leg length (nothing worse than getting your ankles wet!) about £30 plus p+p. |
