I don't imagine wearing one would be very comfortable as midges generally appear when the weather is warm and damp, which will make you sweat and attract even more midges. |

| | | Re: Midge suit uk? I've never had the need to use a midge suit but regularly use a midge head net that I've had for ten years. It's a Canadian make but I've seen similar products on the shelves, one called an "Argyll" midge net. Mine is of generous size - no comments please- and has two elasticated lops that fit under the arms to keep the thing snug and midge proof. Bets to wear it over a wide brimmed hat to keep the mesh away from skin. If wearing a hat is too warm for you, try the inner plastic cradle from a cheap safety helmet. The band fits around your head and the strappy things that connect with sockets in the helmet spring outwards and hold the net away from your face.
You might look like a right prat but who cares when Mrs Midge is on the other side. Like you've been told, tuck your trousers into your socks and wear a pair of vinyl or latex surgical gloves on your hands.
I'd rather be protected physically than daub myself with chemicals that ruin my polaroids and destroy the waterproofing inside the hood of my fishing top.
Natural repellants don't work for me. Good luck. |

I don't really do anything as they don't bother me too much, I'm a smoker and that certainly works.
They seem to be attracted to sweat so I think an anti antiperspirant could work but there are lots of products and some work, some don't. |
