This is a Bridge camera - it has one lens with a decent zoom range.
The next step up is a DSLR ( Canon Nikon etc) where the £400 ish cost is just the start! a half decent lens is as much again! Or, you can remortgage your house and buy what is known as 'L' glass!
My advice is to do nothing! Read, look, ask, compare results and prices. Get some knowledge of what's around and then decide.
Keep posting your questions on this site - you'll get plenty of advice.
Ian | I have the fuji finepix S9600..I am useless with complicated technology. But this camera is fantastic I have taken some decent photos with it..Its Idiot proof.. |

I generally include Insects, Butterflies, Dragonflies, Fungi and Plants in the Wildlife genera and when I was using my first point and shoot, I achieved some rather decent results in comparison to some up to date cameras. |

I'd still rate my Olympus C8080 as an excellent wildlife camera. I think only birds prove difficult.
As a matter of fact I've just bought a panasonic FX100 ... actually for my wife but I'm testing it out first It's great even though it does look odd on the manfrotto |

| | | Re: new camera i recently purchased a fujifinepix s5700. it has delivered some excellent images, some of which are in the Gallery. it is relatively easy to use and is nicely priced. whatever you end up with enjoy the experience.
