| | | Re: Binoculars I don't know what the budget will run to, but if you can afford by hook or crook, Swarovski 8.5x42 EL are just about the best money can buy - I've had mine about 6 years now, the abuse they take is appauling and would destroy many of their contempories, and they seem to have phenominal depth of field. And they are a lot lighter than Nightowls. |

| | | Re: Binoculars Thank you all for your comments, I rate all your views very highly but I am still looking at the nikon monarch range either the 8x36 or 8x42.
Has any member tried either of these binoculars and if they have what do they think of them?
Thanks again to you all |

Thanks again to you all | I've not tried them, but those who have rate them highly for the money.
Choice of bins is highly personal though, go with what is best for you, not what everyone else tells you is best. Set yourself a budget and try a selection out (10 x and 8 x 32, 36, 42 or whatever) in less than perfect conditions, consider how they feel in your hands as well as the image you get from them.
I've bought from In focus before - at Barnes and from their field events- and found them very patient! |

| | Re: Binoculars Hi Everyone
Just like to add that I have now had my nikon binoculars (monarch 8x42) for a short while and they are just what I had exspected.
They are top quality, waterproof, fog proof and shock proof, well worth the money, so if anybody is thinking of buying a good quality binoculars I can highly recommend these
Cheers
