| | | What Binoculars do you use? Just interested to see what bins WAB'rs use? I have a pair of Nikon 10x42 for most of my birding, a little heavy but great optics. Also a pair of Bushnell Natureview 8x42, light and robust and an old pair of Ziess (east) 10x50 that are kept handy by the window.

| | | Re: What Binoculars do you use? I'm afraid to say.... currently...
A knock down pair of VERY CHEAP Celestron 10x25s bought for £5 from a shop going into liquidation!
They're covered in Greek sand from our holiday, not to mention sun-tan oil, the focusing knob is very jammed - only me with my sausage thumbs can shift it and the eyecups have half melted.
After I've used them for more than a minute or so, and take them away from my eyes, anybody I speak to in the next 30 minutes or so, thinks I'm manically winking at them! (or very upset, as my right eye starts to stream!)
Only the very best for me!
Aw well...

People have been genuinely concerned for me, after using them!
Oh look. There's a jack snipe. Good stuff!
*raises celestrons to eyes for a minute*
*takes celestrons away from eyes*
*now appearing to be devastatingly upset - tears pouring down my face*.
I really should think about getting a new pair I suppose...
