Mark H | I did and still couldn't find the bit that I wanted! It was of course the sites problem and not my lack of ability! |

| | | Re: photoshop elements 6 If you have a modern Canon camera, the software provided with it deals with RAW files. If you buy an Extreme media card, a copy of Capture One comes with it and a recovery programme. A free plugin is available to let your Windows browser see RAW files - I think it is dpmagic. After processing with Capture One, there is an option to open the file in Photoshop. This may also apply with Elements, I am not sure, but if you need media, it is worth getting an Extreme card just for the Capture One LE, which is also on sale for £99.
If you have a Fuji camera, the RAW files are RAF and you need the Fuji software to deal with them. |

| | | Re: photoshop elements 6 Thanks for your response Interpreter. I have a Canon 400D that did come with software for RAW images. I have just downloaded a program called Gimp: GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program after seeing how effective it could be with image manipulation. As it is a freeby I thought that I would try that prior to buying Elements 6. Not sure yet if I can work directly on a RAW file, I'm off to read the manual. |

If you have a Fuji camera, the RAW files are RAF and you need the Fuji software to deal with them. | RAF files are covered under elements... well the RAF files from my Fuji S7000 was any way from Elements 4 upwards. I found the Fuji software difficult to use.
Elements 6 probably covers all (or nearly all) RAW files as it is probably the same Raw editor for Lightroom or CS3. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
