Elements 6 will convert raw files and you can always go to the adobe site for the latest updates for raw plug ins if your camera is not covered by the programm at time of purchase

I have Photoshop CS2 but in hindsight I should have bought Elements as I don't use half of what the software offers, nor am I likely to.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Full blown versions of Photoshop have a large proportion dedicated to pre-press requirements, and are largely a waste of money for those who buy this software solely for photo editing. It also guzzles RAM, slowing things down inordinately.
