Battery covers/protectors

If you buy third party batteries for your cameras at less than half the price of the OEM version, normally there is only a piece of tacky tape to cover the conections. I have actually found a place that sells the battery covers for Canon batteries. I have ordered two for the 350D batteries and two for the 5D batteries at a total cost of £7:50p.

Most photographic dealers told me that I would have to contact Canon to get these items as nobody stocked them. Well this company do stock them and they are the only company that I have found that do. Anybody who wants the name of the company just has to send me a PM.

Do they do them for Nikon?

I just pop mine into a small plastic bag, seems to work OK. Having said that, it can make quick changes fiddly. I've learnt now to change my battery before I leave, that way I wont need to change all day, even at my frenetic rate of shooting.

I must have been lucky. All the 'cheap' batteries I have bought for Canon and Olympus came with covers just like the 'real thing'.

They are main Canon agents but I think that they carry a good stock of covers. No guarantee that they do though. If they do not, they are very helpful and may be able to tell you where to get them.
