Hello Friends,
I'm in the process of buying a moth trap, but I am asking experienced trappers for advice first.
I have decided that I'm going to buy a
Skinner Trap so that I can stand by the trap and examine my catch as it arrives.
I'm also going to go for
actinic light to avoid potential light pollution problems for my neighbours that would be caused by MV bulbs.
I'm leaning towards a
twin 30W set of actinic electrics. I also want to buy a set of
portable electrics to use 'in the field'.
Any comments, recommendations and suggestions would be much appreciated, but please note that I can't afford a Robinson-type trap! (A few eperienced people have already recommended these.)
If it's any help, after checking several different suppliers, I'm thinking of buying from
Anglian Lepidopterist Supplies (ALS). Are there any other reputable suppliers that you'd recommend that can compete with ALS? (The other suppliers I've looked at are Paul Batty, Watkins & Doncaster and Bioquip.)
With thanks in advance,
Steven.
