Another photobucket user here too (username markhou68 if anyone wants to check my Gallery out).I`ve recently started backing up my images to dvd, but i`ll probably go back to cd`s....as someone mentioned, loss/damage to a dvd can result in a lot more images lost than a cd.
Havent got an external harddrive as yet for backing up, but i will do once i have the cash spare to get one.Some good info/advice on this thread, keep it up!!

I put mine on my website and submit some to Birdforum.net and a Yahoo digiscoping group. I back them up every 6 months to DVD and never print any!
