It has a certain amount of play in the barrel, which I find off putting. I find that my Canon 100-400mm f4/5.6 IS USM is of more use to me, although it pretty heavy. Using this lens gives the operator a work out at the same time!
I can see the attraction of the Canon 75-300mm f4/5.6 at only £129, but wouldn't the version with USM be a better choice. It costs about £70 more.
