| | | Re: Pin Sharp Macros I use an el-cheapo 4-way focusing rail with my bellows units (allows for sideways movement as well as in and out).
Very well made for the small cost and capable of holding several kilos of equipment still and move it in very small adjustments with good locking capabilities.
My tripod is usually the weakest part of the setup, I also use it attached to a copy stand to allow a coarse X axis adjustment.
Perfectly capable of holding my S2 Pro, PB-6 Bellows, PB-6E Extension Bellows, BR2 reversing ring, Nikon 28mm f/2.8 Series E lens (reversed), BR3 filter adapter and SB-29s ring flash (my tripod groans under this load plus the 4 way rail - perhaps I should ask for a new tripod for my birthday ).
Only real downside is that it is a bit awkward to store unless you dismantle it.
Regards

Is there a specific reason you use LED which will probably be a very small spectrum(mostly blue) when incandescant bulbs emit broad-spectrum light?
How powerful are you talking? 50 lumen, 100 lumen or more...? | The torch is only used for focussing as at high magnifications the viewfinder becomes very dark. I switch it off or move it away to take the shot using proper flashguns. The torch is actually a small maglight modified to take a 1 watt Luxon LED. Ridiculously bright and lasts a good while on batteries |

Thanks for the tip eeyore | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
