| | | Ring Flash for Macro Work Does Any One know where I can obtain a reasonably priced ring flash from for A Sigma 105mm Macro Lens, or does anyone have an old second hand one I can convert, do do the job with, I have searched the usual places and they are still a little of of my Price Range, for what might be termed occasional use.
I would mainly require it for work purposes etc, I did start to build a Ring Light using White LED's but I did not use enough LED's and the Effect was poor, and the color cast was very off puttting.
I always shoot in RAW and struggled to Improve the image, if anything I made the image even more cold. |

but most will fire an own brand which could be used with an aftermarket unit
as long (as it ignores preflash pulses) I believe Metz do one but am a bit hazy
about the details
I have bought a commercial flash bracket but used a plywood boomerang for
years with twin flashguns secured with rubber bands, totally adequate for
occasional use Sigma EM-140 DG MACRO RING FLASH review cheap prices EM-140 DG MACRO RING FLASH Sigma best buy discount online uk shop

My guess would be SIgma would probably produce one that would be dedicated to digital cameras. Meanwhile a very much cheaper and from my viewpoint satisfactory alternative is the Omnibounce - about £15 I use it for most of my macro work. I fit it to a Vivitar or to a Metz gun.

Jon | I have a Sigma Ring flash, the EM140DG. It's a fine piece of kit, and it works fine with the 20D. Not exactly cheap though, at about £239 from Warehouse express. I'm still getting used to it, some of my recent macro shots were taken using it. One big advantage, although I admit not one that will be used very often, is that you can still get good spread of flash even when extremely close to the subject, such as when I use the extension tubes with the 150mm macro. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
