New way of sensor cleaning!
Watch the vid (no need to download first) and see what you think. Should promote a healthy discussion.

Must admit, it's got me thinking.
Cheers,

| | | Re: Sensor cleaner: Discofilm That's got me thinking too Gandalf.
Mainly it's got me thinking NO NO NO NO NO
I will never pour sticky gunk on my sensor, especially when it has been recommended by someone presenting a podcast with 1970's glitter balls hanging in the background

| | | Re: Sensor cleaner: Discofilm I like it. I think its a great idea. I see no reason why this would not work. The bloke seems plausible.
Who's gonna try it out?

| | | Re: Sensor cleaner: Discofilm Looks good, but you would need a steady hand not to get the stuff past the edges of the sensor. Most cheap artist brushes need to degreased a few times from new. If you did not have enough gunk on the brush and you touched the sensor you would leave an oily deposit.
Also how would you get the clingfilm off if the paper tab didn't stick. I think I will wait until a known company sell a dedicated kit for this before I will try it.

| | | Re: Sensor cleaner: Discofilm Well it made me cringe, but if you have a steady hand with a regularly dirty camera sensor think of the money you would save

| | | Re: Sensor cleaner: Discofilm I hope whoever tries it has either a very steady hand and a large bank balance of prefferably both. You'd be a braver man than I Gungadin!
Does it negate your warrenty is you get it wrong? " YOU BET IT DOES!"
Cheers

| | | Re: Sensor cleaner: Discofilm Andy rouse mentions somebody in his DSLR handbook who got marmalade on their sensor - but this looks worse to me , i'm wary of putting anything on the sensor but this - no flipping way

I use a "sensor scope" to identify the dust and the vacuum that comes with the kit to clean, spotless everytime. Delkin Devices - Products - SensorScope System
