The bark on my magnolia tree split about 4 years ago but seemed until about a month ago this orange fungi has appeared in the splits, the tree seams still be alive and has buds as usual
Any info would be much appreciated |

I would have a stab at Velvet Shank ( Flammulina velutipes), a close up of an individual showing cap, gills and stem and maybe a spore print may help bring a definitive identification.

I haven't checked the National Database yet, but it may be the case that Magnolia may be a new host for Velvet Shank.
