| | | Help needed to id fungus, resupinate with small brackets.
Could anyone give me some idea on this fungus, please? The small brackets on a dead shrub (just possibly holly) were about 1.5 cm wide and projected 1 cm. Close to the River Erme in a sheltered valley, Ivybridge, S Devon. I've been through the pictures and am still none the wiser. Time to call the big boys in, methinks

it's Bjerkandera adusta; if one were to be picky, you can't have a resupinate fungus with brackets - if it has the latter it isn't one of the former . . . . though those terms are descriptive rather than having any taxonomic value in any case (I'll shut up) . . . .
best wishes
Chris
