it could be young Cantharellus tubaeformis but that's not a positive ID, it just has that look to me.
Nice photo btw.
Regards Dave

| | | Re: Possible Orange Mosscap (Rickenella fibula) ID help please Thanks Dave. There were lots of those in the area. I've seen plenty of young Trumpets before thats why I thought these were not them. They seemed a mature fungus not young ones? |

have a look at the sticky thread "Help us to help you identify fungi" .
Including more details and pictures of the underside (gills) would make it easier to identify.

| | | Re: Possible Orange Mosscap (Rickenella fibula) ID help please This was the only picture I took I'm afraid. It was last late september and they were very small - that's about all I can say really.
I will have a look at that thread tho, cheers! |

they are small! I didn't quite get the scale when I first replied. I'm not familiar with Rickenalla fibula but I have found few images that are very similar to your photo with that caption.

I think it is most likely to be Rickenalla fibula. Very nice group and photo.

I think your right......but I guess a definite answer is hard to give from just a photo sometimes.
I appreciate your nice comments on my photo too!

| | | Re: Possible Orange Mosscap (Rickenella fibula) ID help please I can't think of anything else these could be, but one doesn't normally see them bunched up in a group like this, creating such a lovely composition.
You've certainly done something so tiny, and so easily overlooked, some justice.
