Possible Orange Mosscap (Rickenella fibula) ID help please

it could be young Cantharellus tubaeformis but that's not a positive ID, it just has that look to me.

Thanks Dave. There were lots of those in the area. I've seen plenty of young Trumpets before thats why I thought these were not them. They seemed a mature fungus not young ones?

have a look at the sticky thread "Help us to help you identify fungi" .

Including more details and pictures of the underside (gills) would make it easier to identify.

This was the only picture I took I'm afraid. It was last late september and they were very small - that's about all I can say really.

they are small! I didn't quite get the scale when I first replied. I'm not familiar with Rickenalla fibula but I have found few images that are very similar to your photo with that caption.

I can't think of anything else these could be, but one doesn't normally see them bunched up in a group like this, creating such a lovely composition.

You've certainly done something so tiny, and so easily overlooked, some justice.
