This slide of the spore print of The Goblet Pseudoclitocybe cyaniformis demonstrates the amyloid reaction.



The white spore print is on the left. I have scraped some spores together into a pile on the right and added a drop of Melzer's solution. The yellowish Melzer's has turned the white spores black. Useful in this case as it distinguishes Pseudoclitocybe from Clitocybe species which have a non-amyloid reaction ie there is no colour change in the later genus.
