Unidentified fungus on Kitchen wall! Help :-/

Hi,

We have moved into a new house and seem to have a strange fungus or mould growing inside on our kitchen wall. I've removed it many times and it keeps coming back. I did find the source of moisture from a leak upstairs (since fixed).

Can anyone identify it? Is it toxic and how do I get rid permanently?

Hello,

this seems to be Peziza cerea. What we see is a so called discomycete, one of the bigger species, and the only one known to me growing from walls is this Peziza cerea.
It is harmless and if you have stopped the source of moisture, which it needs to grow, then it will disappear by itself by time.
