Jim | We have them in Cumbria too. I can verify that they are enforced by Environment Agency Fisheries Officers and Police where appropriate. |

The wording got off to a good start, but then it just fizzled out - a complete waste of time.
Now if it had said something along the lines of 'Our officers have powers to confiscate illegal collections and regularly patrol this area' then it may have some effect.

| | | Re: sign of the times ? Oh dear, I generally only collect specimens that I don't want to eat .... (but ones I do want to find out what they are though).
And I wonder why the only foreign language is Polish - at least that is what it looks like to my eye, and their English is usually pretty good. Not met any Polish people collecting near me, but have met a few from other European countries, French, Italian, Lithuanian etc. The vast majority have been British though.
