Postia or Tyromyces? Help please

Hello,

Can someone help me with this fungus found this afternoon in Plymouth plantation woodland. On dead wood on ground, probably deciduous but can't be sure. Thank you.

The type of tree is very important with these difficult Postia species.
Yours is very 'hairy' and I even considered Oligoporus for a time.

There is slight blueing which some may suggest P.subcaesia, but I'm not happy and even feel the whole genus of Postia needs a re-think.
Tyromyces was the old genus Postia was placed in.

Taking a close look at the bark, I now feel that it is more likely to be a conifer. It was in a small wood on Plymouth's eastern suburbs.

Another wabber may feel more confident than me, but this I feel, would need a microscope examination - and even then it won't be easy.
