| | | Shiny flat purple-brown fungi I should be interested to hear whether anyone can identify the shiny flat purple-brown fungi about 6 inches in diameter which I discovered recently in a field in Kent. A photograph of the fungi has been used for my profile image. |

| | | Re: Shiny flat purple-brown fungi Can't really see much of it from your profile, can you upload it onto this thread? Although try Wood blewit Lepista nuda.

| | | Shiny flat purple-brown fungi I have attached images of the shiny flat purple-brown fungi which could very well be Wood Blewit Lepista Nuda.
There is also a photograph of a very striking orange fungi attached. |

| | | Re: Shiny flat purple-brown fungi Almost certainly Lepista nuda for the first fungus, but I wouldn't like to guess on the other one without seeing the gills and more of the stem.
Happy Boxing Day !

| | | Shiny flat purple-brown fungi and orange fungi I should like to thank both John and Neil for your prompt and very helpful replies.
As for the orange fungi, I did not disturb them so unfortunately do not have photographs of their gills.
Happy New Year!
