Excuse my take on Delia Smith, but didn't anybody go out fungi hunting today ?
I spent the day down in Essex searching Stour Wood and managed to come back with a list of 37 species, plus one I shall have to spend a bit of time on.
Perfect weather, still quite mild and a lovely quiet walk, beats sitting in front of the tele any time.
Right then, do I get my turkey in the oven or start on the sherry trifle ?

Couldnt, grandchildren etc etc, but did get to watch a Tawny for 15 mins in the Elm at the back, so did get some wildlifing in, besides the kids that is!

Well I managed to get out today, walking off the post Christmas day booze fog and am so glad I did as I saw my first Earthstar and felt blessed .......

In Shetland.
Any fungi still surviving would have been blowing past my ears at 90mph.
Few lichen still clinging to the heather though.....
