Dont know about the spores Mal, but it looks (macro features) very much like Melanotus horizontalis, common (ish) on sawn wood.
This is the cap, seems like yours are felty too, and the stipe is often offset, so maybe thats the right ID?

'Kew Mycology (Dr Brian Spooner) have ID'd this as Wood Oysterling - Melanotus Horizontalis.
M Proteus and M textilis are synonyms.
Not rare, but unusual and a good find it appears - dried specimens now held at Kew for reference.
