| | | peach colored mushroom on dead wood Hello, found this mini-cluster growing alone today on a lump of dead wood, tree species unknown. Initially thought it might be a velvet shank, now not sure.
Cap is 4cm diameter, sort of buff, peach coloured, quite tough.
stem is tough and fibrous with a hole through the middle.
No distinctive smell, just mushroomy...
any ideas? any help appreciated.
Thanks, Anthony |

| | | Re: peach colored mushroom on dead wood Hi Neil thanks it could perhaps be a totally smooth domed Rhodatus Palmatus but I'm not 100% sure. I am going to take a spore print and see what happens. |

| | | Re: peach colored mushroom on dead wood thanks all for the input, I think it is rhodotus palmatus. How come it sometimes appears totally smooth capped then, is it a subspecies, or a result of growing conditions?
I took a spore print and it's pinky, very very slightly peachy.
