| | | Mushrooms Growing in my bathroom The below picture is of my bathroom ceiling. As you can see there is a fairly healthy crop of mushrooms growing there (which my landlord doesn't believe so am currently allowing to grow to prove a point). It would be useful if someone could identify them. Any help would be most appriciated. (sorry about the picture quality but only have a phone camera). |

Yes the photo is very poor:
Are they like these fungi I have photographed in my cellar?

My photo is of Peziza cerea . This fungus is know to grow on damp plaster and mortar, and while not particularly dangerous to the structural integrity of a building (as far as I am aware but I am not a structural engineer!) its presence does however indicate that there may be some sort of damp problem.

not a structural threat, but an indication of excessive (and unwanted) moisture
cheers

| | | Re: Mushrooms Growing in my bathroom Thanks for all your help everyone. Landlord is finally going to do something about the damp and I'm glad to here that this is pretty much the only reason for the growth.
Happy holidays to you all
